Pakistan Prime Minister cancelled his second foreign trip in a row as he decided to not attend the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit, to be held in Cardiff, United Kingdom on September 4 and 5. Earlier, he had cancelled his trip to Turkey.

Nawaz is adamant he will not resign from his post despite growing pressure from his opponents, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), who continue to hold protests in Islamabad's 'red zone', despite the police resorting to tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the demonstrators.

Meanwhile, violent clashes between the police and the protestors have led to three deaths and hundreds injured. PTI president has also alleged that PTI chief Imran Khan had said that the current crisis in Pakistan has been dictated by the military.
