National Herald Case: Congress 'politicising' court matter, says BJP

 Taking strong exception to the burning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's effigy by Congress workers, BJP on Sunday said the opposition party was "politicising" a court matter and should rather apologise to people for stalling Parliament over the National Herald case.

"They are attacking a Prime Minister who is taking all measures to fight corruption. Congress has politicised something that basically Modi has nothing to do. It should apologise to people for its conduct, including stalling of Parliament," BJP secretary Shrikant Sharma said. Congress should "cooperate" with the government in its fight against corruption, he said.

Rejecting the opposition's charge of "vendetta politics", he said all the corruption cases for which it was blaming the government were registered during the UPA regime whether it was Aircel-Maxis case or that of National Herald.
Congress's "celebration" yesterday after its chief Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul got bail in the case made it look like that they had got a "trophy" and not bail. Sonia and Rahul Gandhi had hit out at Modi accusing him of levelling "false allegations" against them and making "full use" of government agencies to "deliberately target" the Opposition.
