Hitting out at its former ally, Congress on Thursday said National Conference is raking up autonomy and AFSPA issues to avoid accountability for their non performance in the state.

"NC is again resorting to their wild cries to repeat their old rhetorics to avoid accountability for their non performances and indulges in search of excuse to shift their responsibility for failure to fulfill popular aspirations of the state", Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma told a public rally here.

"Autonomy, revocation of AFSPA are irrelevant issues as NC has been exposed for divisive politics," Sharma said.

The NC's demand for autonomy is irrelevant as people of the three regions in the state need development, progress and prosperity, and are least bothered about any political gimmicks either from NC or someone else, Sharma said.

Rejecting the revocation of AFSPA from Jammu and Kashmir, Sharma said security matters and ground level situations to be left at the discretion of those who are responsible for maintenance of Security and law and order.

Saying Jammu region demands restoration of its dignity and deliverance of Justice, Sharma asserted that Congress is the only party which promised Regional Development Council empowered by the Constitutional necessities for the region.

The Congress leader later explained his welfare works done in Akhnoor Constituency and urged the voters, including women, to cast votes.
