National Conference MLC Showkat Ganie's Shopian residence attacked

Terrorists opened fire on a guard outside National Conference MLC Showkat Ganie's residence in Shopian on Thursday night. ANI reports that the guard fired back in retaliation.

According to ANI, Showkat Ganie was not present at his residence during the incident and there were no casualties.

Ganie had recently come under fire for calling late Hizbul Mujahideen leader Burhan Wani a freedom fighter during a debate in the Legislative Council. Wani was killed in an encounter with the  army in 2016.
