Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping on Thursday addresses joint press conference after the 90 minute meet that held between the two leaders. India and China signed 12 agreements following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The pacts include cooperation in railways, outer space and customs.

Addressing the joint conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Various agreements are being exchanged between China and India in the presence of President Xi Jinping. I am glad that President Xi Jinping has come to India within months of our Government taking office"

Expressing a need of mutual trust for cordial relations, he said, "It is important to have mutual trust and peace at the border to realise the full potential of the relationship between India and China.  All issues including economic, political and security discussed over the last two days. We decided to step up engagement in diverse areas"

He further said, "We discussed various issues related to bi-lateral ties and economy.The cordial relation will continue relation There should be peace in our relations and in the borders. If this happens we can realise true potential of our relations. In Ahmedabad and Delhi we spoke about all aspects of India-China relations. We expressed concern over trade imbalance and requested Jingpin to ease restrictions for investment by Indian companies in China."

Addressing tough issues of border incursion Modi added, "I have expressed concern over what has happened on the borders and we need to solve it. We have to address the boundary question very soon as well. I have discussed India's concerns relating to China's visa policy and Trans Border Rivers. If we solve this issue as early as possible, it would enhance mutual trust."

Pressing on development, he stated, "India and China decide to initiate talks on civil nuclear cooperation.China has committed investments worth USD 20 billion in India over the next five years. I am glad that Chinese industrial parks will be built in India. We feel we can increase our economic relations. I urged that our companies get easier market access and investment opportunities in China. I have invited investment in infrastructure and manufacturing sectors."

He further stated, "I thank President Xi Jinping for opening new additional route to Kailash Mansarovar. New route to Kailash Mansarovar makes pilgrimage accessible by motorable road, offers safer alternative, shorter in duration."

Laying the importance of cooperating at international level Modi said, "We have agreed to cooperate on various shared interests at the global level including, peaceful and stability in Afghanistan. I have even suggested clarification of Line of Actual Control would greatly contribute to our efforts to maintain peace and tranquility."

Expressing his happiness over what India has achieved, Jinping said, "We had a fruitful talks on all issues of mutual concern. India has achieved enormous development and achievement and I am happy to see it and hope that under PM Modi India will achieve new heights."

He even went on to invite Modi to visit China early next year and said that 2015 will be observed as 'Visit India' year in China.

"China and India to act as twin engines to promote growth and prosperity in the region. We should move towards peaceful,cooperative and inclusive development,imp that we strengthen exchanges at all levels," Jinping  added.
