Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to Maharana Pratap, a great Rajput warrior king of the 16th century, on his birth anniversary.
Taking to social networking site Twitter, Modi said, "Maharana Pratap's life symbolised ultimate courage, patriotism and sacrifice. I bow to this proud son of India on his birth anniversary."

Pratap, who was known for his courage, chivalry and partiotism, ruled the kingdom of Mewar, which is now a part of modern day Rajasthan . He belonged to the Sisodia clan of Rajputs.
