Forty minute speeches of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi evoked a 400 words response from Congress on Saturday.

Responding to Gujarat chief minister’s tirade against its leaders in public rallies held in the region including Indore, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday came up with a two-page statement accusing him of lying.

Modi as always presented bundles of lies before public during his election meetings held at Indore, Jhabua, Khandwa and Barwani, PCC chief Kantilal Bhuria and MPCC spokesperson Narendra Saluja alleged in the statement.

The Gujarat chief minister showed utter disrespect towards departed leaders of Congress including Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, alleged the party, claiming that Modi also made mockery of the poor.

The Congress accused Modi of speaking on national and international issues but not saying a single word on Madhya Pradesh.

The party said stated, “One thing said by Modi is absolutely appropriate that ‘Jisne Waada Toda-Usse Nata Todo” (snap relations with those who broke promises--as the BJP did nothing but to make false promises and announcements in last ten years.)

In their poll speeches, Congress leaders use 80% time talking about the poor while Modi utilised same amount of time in cursing Nehru-Gandhi family, the party alleged.

The party also alleged that Modi claimed that tourists’ influx increased in Madhya Pradesh but he seemed to have forgot what happened with overseas tourists in Bandhavgarh and Orchha.

The Congress lashed at Modi’s remarks on Centre’s promise of offering employment to one crore youth by questioning why Modi did not comment on state government’s promises of one lakh jobs per annum.

The party also lashed at Modi over his remarks on issues like hunger with reference to Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Madhya Pradesh’ elevation from BIMARU states, his critical remarks 35kg free foodgrain as announced by Sonia Gandhi and six LPG cylinder policy of the Centre.

The Congress party also criticised Modi for summoning Gujarat police during his election rally in Indore, claiming that the person who has no faith on state police, have no right to praise the state.
