Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today expressed grief and sorrow over the death of around 20 army jawans in the avalanche in Jammu and Kashmir over the last few days.

In a message today he said that the victims of the avalanches included one Sundara Pandian from Madurai District in Tamil Nadu.

"It is a tragic news and the services of the jawans braving severe inclement weather conditions would be perpetually remembered by the nation" the Chief Minister said adding that the death of the jawans is an irreparable loss not only to their families but also to the nation as a whole.

Narayanasamy conveyed his condolences to the families bereaved of the death of the army personnel.
