BJP candidate for Bangalore South LS seat, Ananth Kumar, on Monday wondered why Congress candidate Nandan Nilekani was hesitant to use the Congress symbol, use the names of party president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi during his campaign.
Speaking with reporters on Monday, Kumar said the voters of Bangalore South have the ability to differentiate between 18 days of love (by Nandan Nilekani) and 18 years of dedicated service (by Ananth Kumar). "I have been appealing to voters in the name of Narendra Modi and myself. I have no inhibition to use my party symbol—lotus—and the name of Modi during my campaign," Kumar said.
He said Congress candidate has been hesitating to use Congress symbol and names of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and its vice president Rahul Gandhi. "He has problems in using Congress symbol. I am proud and considers it privilege to use BJP symbol—lotus—during my campaign," he said.
BJP central parliamentary committee would be meeting on March 19 to finalise the candidates for the remaining Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat and Rajasthan. "As far as the decision on Bellary, Hassan and Bidar parliamentary seats is concerned, the BJP national leaders are expected to finalise the list," he said.
