Zee Media initiative #MyRoadMyRight against illegal parking is getting support from everywhere. Not just the locals but now, political parties too have come forward to support the initiative.
The initiative is to stop illegal parking. Cars on colony roads, by the roadside, under trees, in parks, over drains, almost everywhere, the campaign is to create awareness against illegal parking.
Raj Purohit, BJP MLA from South Mumbai area, along with the Akash Purohit from Marine Drive, has given a memorandum to BMC commissioner Ajay Mehta. This memo includes many important points such as...
1. Policy should be made to stop illegal parking.
2. While making the policy for illegal parking, fire brigade & ambulance should be given consideration.
3. There should be an additional fire center in Marine Drive area.
4. Special training to escape fire etc should be given to residents of Marine Drive.
5. Mock drills should be conducted time to time.
6. Marine Drive's 'Heritage' status should be kept in mind while creating the policies.
While talking to Zee News MLA Raj Purohit said, " Due to the 'Heritage' status given to Marine Drive, it is not possible do any new construction. The problem of illegal parking is getting worse. If buildings are made in a organised way, the issue of illegal parking can vanish".
It should be note that it took 35 to 40 mins for fire brigade to reach at the spot when a massive fire broke out in a housing society in Chembur, in suburban Mumbai. Five people were killed in the fire.
To avoid such situation in future and stop illegal parking, Zee News has initiated a campaign called #MyRoadMyRight.
