A high drama ensued at the Delhi assembly on Friday with AAP legislator Alka Lamba and five other party legislators walking out demanding fast-tracking of the house ethics committee's decision on BJP lawmaker OP Sharma.

Speaking to dna, Lamba said Sharma's membership of the assembly should be revoked. "He has called me goondi (thug) on several occasions during the session, but the tipping point for was when he questioned my character,"Lamba said, adding that justice should be delivered in this session itself.

Sharma has already stands suspended for the entire winter session of the Delhi assembly for his remarks against Lamba, while the matter was referred to the house ethics committee on Thursday.

"He is calling me his sister and on the back foot now, but have not apologised to me. I'm not willing to forgive him,"Lamba said.

She further alleged that instead of taking action against Sharma, leader of opposition Vijendra has brought a stop work proposal. "Surprisingly, the BJP MLAs had blamed us for hindering work in the assembly,"Lamba said.
However, Sharma said the entire episode in the assembly has been scripted by AAP as part of their preparations for the Punjab assembly elections.
The issue of drug abuse is prevalent in Punjab.

He says a discussion on the deaths of homeless people's death was underway at the assembly. "It was on police record that the deaths were due to cold, while Lamba claimed they were a result of drug addiction. She claims to be working for homeless drug addicts late nights, to which I merely reiterated. That particular statement was taken out of context and blown out of proportion,"said Sharma.

Asked to explain his 'goondi'comments, Sharma said they were based on clear CCTV footages on how she bullied the shopkeepers during an anti-drug drive in August this year.

The winter session was to end on Saturday, but has now been extended till December 4. 67 of the 70 seats in Delhi assembly are under AAP, while there are just three BJP legislators.

Meanwhile, amidst the chaos, the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Delhi Amendment) Bill, 2015, was tabled in the house, of which a no detention policy for students up to class VIII is a highlight.
