The residents of the Campa Cola Society are worried about their future, as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will begin its demolition today morning. BMC had earlier given a May 2 deadline to the residents by which the residents failed to evict their homes. South Mumbai MP Arvind Sawant, Shaina NC, and Mangal Prabhat Lodha arrive at the Campa Cola compound in solidarity of the residents. RPI (Athavale) workers have also been detained by the Mumbai Police, following demonstrations in support of the residents. Defending Union Minister Nihalchand Meghwal from an alleged rape case, Rajasthan Health Minister Rajendra Rathore today said the BJP MP from Sriganganagar was victim of Congress' conspiracy. Terming Nihalchand as innocent, Rathore said the woman had lodged the case during Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's tenure and the Jaipur police has put a final report on it. He said the final report was accepted during Gehlot regime by the metropolitan court in Jaipur. "The final report was cleared by police and the court," Rathore told reporters during "sarkar apke dwar" at Bikaner. Read more

Brent crude hit a nine-month high of more than $115 a barrel on Thursday as the United States said it would send military advisers to Iraq, raising concerns about the escalating conflict. Government forces continued to battle Sunni militants for control of Iraq's biggest refinery as US President Barack Obama said the United States will send up to 300 military advisers to Iraq to combat the extremist insurgency. Read more
