Mumbai Univeristy goofs up TYBA repeaters exam results, to amend marksheets of 4,000 students

The Mumbai University has goofed up with the Semester V results of atleast 4,000 TYBA students, reports a leading English daily. 

The results of the students who had given the repeaters exam was out in July-August 2015 and was even pointed out by one of the students. 

The university's exam section will have to make changes in all the students exam and they will need to send out a fresh set of results. This will change the grades of several students especially those who have  received borderline marks.

The university will give out a circular asking students who appeared for repeaters exam to give their marksheets before they give a new one. 

According to university's controller of examinations Deepak Wasave, the error took place when the results were being fed into the computer.  All six subjects of third year Arts fixed number of credits which four except the sixth and optional subjects which can be 3.5 or four based on the what the student chooses. . But all students were given credits out of 4 leading to the error in the overall cumulative grade point average (CGPA).

Wasawe has admitted that the error was brought to their notice in January by a student. The university has decided to take action against officials responsible for the error following a meeting of the ad-hoc board of examinations (BoE).

As per an official, circular asking students to surrender their original marksheet will be released after another BoE meeting on Thursday.
