Mumbai: Rs 85 lakh cash in Rs 2000 notes seized, 7 detained

The crime branch of Mumbai Police seized Rs 85 lakh cash in Rs 2,000 notes on Friday from an Innova car at Hindu Colony, Dadar, police said. 7 people have been detained in connection with this case. They were carrying this money. They are being currently questioned in this matter. 

The cash was seized by unit 5 of the crime branch from Babasaheb Ambedkar road this afternoon, Mumbai Police spokesperson Ashok Dudhe said.
A probe is underway in this regard, the officer added. Police had a tipoff that Rs1 crore was being transported in the Innova. Search is on for the remaining amount.
