A Mumbai restaurant will celebrate Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's release by offering a special culinary delight named 'Chicken Sanju Baba' free of charge to all patrons and fans on Thursday.

Noor Mohammadi Hotel, which is located in southern Mumbai, will serve the dish created by Sanjay Dutt, free of cost between 12 pm to 12 am

Restaurant owner Khalid Hakim said that the recipe was gifted to him by Dutt himself. “I had invited Sanjay Dutt saab to inaugurate the new family section of my restaurant in 1986. Since then, he visited regularly to relish the special non-vegetarian and other food items we served here, especially his favourite Nalli Nari,” Hakim told IANS.

“He is a big star, he could have easily sold the recipe to some five-star hotel and earn royalty for his whole life. But he gave it to our humble place. The least we can do is celebrate his release differently along with his fans and patrons on Thursday,” Hakim said.

Dutt was sentenced to five-year imprisonment after he was convicted for possessing an illegal weapon, part of the cache meant to be used during the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts in which 257 people were killed. The 56-year-old actor was jailed in 1996 and spent 18 months behind bars before walking out on bail.

In 2013, the Supreme Court sentenced him to five years in prison for the crime. Dutt is now completing the remaining prison term of 42 months. After he was sent to Yerawada jail in May 2013, Dutt had been out on parole twice and an equal number of times on furlough.

Sanjay Dutt is all set to be released from the Yerawada Central Jail in Maharashtra on Thursday morning.
