Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday reviewed the rain situation prevailing in Mumbai following heavy rains and problems related to water logging, at the disaster management room and assured that his government will be able to handle the situation.

"I have just taken the stock of whole situation of city from the control room here. The advisories have been issued right since morning. People also preferred not to come out from their house so the traffic is not much on the roads," Fadnavis told the media here.

"The water logging has happened in a few areas and for that the BMC has installed 176 pumps and the efforts are on to reduce the impact of water-logging, because the high tide is expected at 2.30 p.m. and it is necessary to reduce water-logging before that," he added.

"The complaints are also being addressed here. More advisories regarding the rainfall will be issued in the evening. I would like to make an appeal to everyone to stay away from the sea area as the tide height is expected to be above 4 meters. The department here is working effectively...I feel we will be able to handle the situation," he further said.
