It looks like the Mumbai monsoons are not going to bring any respite to Mumbaikars, with some of them tweeting to the Mumbai police and media houses on the plight they are facing.

One user, with the Twitter handle @Mahesh27649270 had tagged the Mumbai police and several media houses, including DNA, stating that his building had developed cracks due to the rain and it was extremely dangerous to live there.

When contacted, Mahesh told DNA that his building, a two-floor structure located in Khetwadi Girgaon in South Mumbai, had been declared dangerous by MHADA during the pre-monsoon survey. DNA had reported in May that the building No 69-81, Khetwadi 3rd Lane, Ganesh Bhuvan was declared dangerous. “We had even paid MHADA to fix the house. We have given 80% of the money so that they don't tear the building down. We just want to be relocated to a transit camp so that the building can be repaired and we can return home,” Mahesh said.

He further said that he was hopeful that MHADA relocated them to transit camps. "We want to leave, but we have nowhere to go. We have written to MHADA several times, but to no avail," he added.

On Tuesday, Mumbai continued its battle with heavy rains, as people took to social media to highlight the flooding in their respective areas.
