Caught in three hours: Twitter savvy Mumbai Police nails masturbating biker

Two teenage girls fell prey to a dismal act of perversion, when a man followed their autorickshaw near Khar and brazenly started masturbating  in their presence, in broad daylight on his bike!  Wise, as the girls were, in a situation as unbelievably vile as this, they did not lose their head at the moment. Instead they took a photograph of this offender and circulated it amongst their friends.

One of their friends, tweeted the photo tagging the official Twitter handle of Mumbai Police to the tweet. Mumbai Police responded to the tweet and in an exemplary display of efficiency, the offender was apprehended within three hours of sharing the tweet.

The police took suo motu action in this case, by registering offence even before taking statements from the victims. “Looking at the girls, the accused flashed his private parts and began masturbating on the moving bike. The teenage girls were horrified, but did the smartest thing by clicking his photographs and catching him in the act,” said an officer from Khar police station to MidDay.

Besides taking his photograph, the girls had also taken down the licence plate number of the black Yamaha bike that he was riding, which coupled with CCTV footages in the area, helped the police in locating and arresting the perpetrator.
