Mumbai: 25-year-old man arrested for molesting media professional in Colaba

The Colaba police on Saturday night arrested a 19-year-old man who allegedly groped a 25-year-old media professional in South Mumbai's Colaba area on Wednesday night, while she was returning to the hotel where she was staying.

The incident took place late on Wednesday night, around 1:30 am when the victim was returning from a shoot to the hotel.

The accused has been identified as Luv Anand Kule. 

Despite having the CCTV footage of the incident, the accused were untraceable as the registration number of the bike and face of the accused was not visible in the footage.

The police, however, after four days of the investigation tracked him down from his house in Cuffe-Parade, 

The woman, a media professional from New Delhi, had come to the city recently for making documentaries on several subjects and was staying at a hotel in Colaba.

"As I got down from the taxi and was walking towards the hotel while talking over the phone, a speeding biker approached from behind and touched me inappropriately and speeded away," the victim told DNA.

"I Immediately raised an alarm and asked people who were standing nearby to nab the biker, however, he managed to escape. I then approached the police and filed the complaint. The police scanned the CCTV footage of the area, but the registration number of bike and biker's face was invisible," she added.

"We arrested the accused and produced him in the court. He has been sent to judicial custody," said a police officer from Colaba police station.
