Mughal Gardens to open for public from tomorrow, all you need to know

The iconic Mughal Gardens in Rashtrapati Bhavan will be open for general public from Tuesday. It will remain open from February 6 to March 9.

As part of the 'Udyanotsav', President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the Mughal Gardens on February 4.

The beautiful lawns, comprising the spiritual garden, herbal garden, bonsai garden and musical garden, will remain open from February 5-March 12 between 9:30 am-4:00 pm, Press Secretary to the President Ashok Malik said.

The entry and exit for people to reach the Mughal Gardens will be from Gate No 35 of the President's Estate, close to where North Avenue meets Rashtrapati Bhavan. There will be special visiting days too as the gardens will open exclusively on March 10 for farmers, differently abled persons, defence/paramilitary forces and Delhi Police personnel. 

However, the legendary garden will remain closed on March 2 due to Holi celebrations and also on all Mondays for maintenance.

The visitors are not allowed to bring any water bottles, briefcases, handbags/ladies purses, cameras, radios, transistors, boxes, umbrellas, eatables etc. Such articles, if any, will have to be deposited at the entry point.

The arrangements for drinking water, toilets, first aid/medical facility and rest rooms for senior citizens, women and children will be provided.

About 10,000 Tulip bulbs in eight varieties of different colours, all imported from the Netherlands, will be the major attraction of the garden this year.
Tulips, which have been in bloom since the first week of January, were expected to blossom till the final week of February, 2018.

Visitors will also would be able to see other gardens including the Circular, Spiritual, Herbal, Bonsai, Tactile and Musical gardens.
