MoS PMO Jitendra Singh evades direct reply on Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir

Union Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh evaded a direct reply to a question on Thursday night on the possibility of Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir, saying "I think (the) Governor can answer that".

"I don't know about all that (imposition of Governor's rule in the state). I am not equipped to answer that. I think (the) Governor can answer that," Singh told reporters in Jammu. He was replying to the question about the possibility of Governor's rule in the state in wake of incumbent NN Vohra sending a report to the Centre on the political impasse after Omar Abdullah asked him to relieve him as caretaker Chief Minister.

On the question of the formation of the government in the state by BJP in alliance, he said, "I don't know about it. It is the party leadership that takes a call on it." The Governor's report comes a day after Omar met him in Delhi last night soon after his return from London after a 12-day visit to his ailing parents and asked him to relieve him as caretaker Chief Minister.

On a question on the probe into the Sunanda Pushkar death case, the Union minister said, "Why should we single out one case and not talk about other cases. Right now we have other things to talk about."

"All people should be questioned. Law must take its own course," he added. On the question of terror threat, Singh said, "Our government is well prepare to tackle any eventuality. We have taken all measures in this regard."
