On the occassion of 4th anniversary of the cental government, BJP President Amit Shah hailed several achievements of Narendra Modi and his cabinet. He also weighed in on the political situation in the country and said that BJP has increased its political clout in the last 4 years. 

Holding a press conference, Amit Shah said," After Modi government took over, India saw a new light. This govt has proved to work for the welfare of both cities and rural areas. PM Modi wanted to take India up the ladder in world economy and he fulfilled his promises. Today there is no village in India where there is no electricity. We achieved this target way before the deadline. And we are still working on making this better". 

Regarding BJP's growing political strength, Shah said, " Today, 20 states have NDA governments. 65 per cent of states have BJP governments, this shows people's trust in us".  About hallmark of PM Modi's government, Shah was of the opinion, " This government has worked immensely for the betterment of farmers and poor. PM Narendra Modi ended politics of appeasement, dynasty, ushered politics of development".

Regarding economy, BJP President said, " We managed to control price rise. India is now the world's fifth largest economy. Opposition is indulging in politics of lies. Their only agenda is to remove Narendra Modi , our agenda is to remove anarchy from the country". 

Amit Shah again reiterated the effort made by PM Modi in governance saying, " BJP provided the most hardworking Prime Minister & the most popular leader in the world to the country, a PM who works for 15-18 hours a day. We are proud that this Prime Minister is a leader of BJP". 

Regarding surge in petrol and diesel prices, BJP President said, " The current prices of petrol & diesel were the same during three years of Congress government. But they are fed up of these raised prices in only three days in our government? Government is thinking about that & will form a long-term solution for it". 

Amit Shah played down opposition unity and said that these parties have earlier too fought against BJP and faced defeat. He reminded reporters about how SP-Congress alliance came up as a cropper in Uttar Pradesh. Shah said there is still an year to go and BJP will devise strategy of reaching 50% vote share in Uttar Pradesh to combat the joint opposition. He also mentioned that voting in general elections are different from bypolls and hence the two shouldn't be equated. BJP President also said that they hope to contest jointly with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. Underplaying TDP's exit from NDA, Shah said that NDA has only increased in size post 2011.

Overall, Amit Shah exuded confidence of coming back to power with full majority in 2019 by dint of the work done by Narendra Modi government.
