Get 3 lakh 'genuine' likes on Facebook, will address your constituents: Modi tells BJP MPs

Days after Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad warned Facebook of stringent legal action against any misuse of data of its over 200 million Indian users, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked each Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP to get at least 300,000 likes on their Facebook page.

The message was conveyed to party MPs during a dinner meeting at the newly constructed party headquarters at Deendayal Upadhyay Marg in New Delhi. Along with Prime Minister, party president Amit Shah was also present during the meeting. As an incentive to MPs for getting 3 lakh 'likes', PM said that he would hold  hold a live video call with workers from their constituencies if the target is achieved.

According to Hindustan Times report, on condition of anonymity, BJP MP said that PM Modi stressed on genuine likes and not the one ‘bought’ through marketing companies. The parliamentarians were asked to stay active on the virtual ground and utilise social media for increasing connect with people and promoting public welfare schemes after it it was found that 43 of the party MP do not hold a 'facebook' account while 77 did not have their accounts verified.

During the meeting, all the party MPs present were provided a draft for victory in next parliamentary elections. Holding election management a 'science', Modi explained on the fine details of 'prepping' the worker, while Shah conveyed on 'strengthening' the booth side.  Modi also accused the Opposition of spreading lies against his government due to its increasing "frustration" over electoral losses, and asked BJP MPs to use technology effectively to take the truth to the masses. BJP chief Shah had also blamed the opposition for the impasse in Parliament and asked the MPs to hold press conferences in their parliamentary constituencies to highlight the matter.
