MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that his controversial 'monogrammed' suit was auctioned only after he came under criticism.

"The auction followed criticism for wearing the expensive suit," Raj said, addressing a party convention in suburban Goregaon this evening.

"Will Ganga be purified by auctioning the suit?" Raj said, alluding to the purpose of auctioning the suit to contribute to the Ganga cleaning plan.

Asking people not to pay toll till there's transparency in collection, he said no other party in Maharashtra now speaks on the road toll issue.

"The Devendra Fadnavis government which came to power with the promise of abolishing toll isn't even ready to talk about the issue now," Raj said.
