Congress Communication chief Randeep Surjewala said hunger deaths, agri distress, job losses, lowest credit ratings, rising prices, plunging exports, flawed GST, demonetisation disaster, stagnant growth are the real indices to measure it.
As the BJP went to town after US-based rating agency Moody’s gave thumbs up to India’s rating soon after a similar report by PEW, Congress ridiculed the findings saying Modi and Moody are not able to gauge the mood of the nation.
Raising questions over BJP’s elation over the reports, party spokesperson Rajeev Shukla said, “it seems BJP is fighting all elections this time from Washington. After destroying India’s economy, Modi government is clutching at straws to claim lost credibility. Whether Modi or Moody, they are not able to gauge or understand the mood of the nation. No indigenous agency has given any such report. All this is coming only from foreign agencies.”

Taking a dig at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Surjewala said, “Mr Jaitley, do remember that Moody’, S&P and other rating agencies defaulted in rating American sub-prime mortgages...before the economic meltdown.”
Surjewala also put out a rhyme, “Aarthik Haalat Se Bekhabar Bhajpa Sarkar; Bas Videshi agenciyon ke certificate ka ambaar Par kisan, naujawan, vyapari dukandar to kar raha haahaakaar Kab jagega ahankari dilli sarkaar” (BJP government is unaware of the economic scenario and has just piled certificates from foreign agencies.
