Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Mysuru, Karnataka on Saturday as he is all set to inaugurate the 103rd Indian Science Congress on January 3. He will also attend the centenary celebrations of Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swami and some other programmes.
Media reports say that a massive cleanliness campaign was carried out over the last few weeks in the city due to his impending arrival. Roads were cleaned, potholes filled, and all rubbish cleared out, giving the city a 'Swachh' look.
The Deccan Herald states that the sugar cane growers association in Karnataka plans to meet Modi as they were facing a lot of issues. They want to urge the PM to introduce some new norms for farmers.
