Modi in Kerala: Youth Congress workers arrested for waving black flags at Prime Minister

Four Youth Congress activists were arrested on Tuesday in Kollam for waving black flags at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's motorcade on Tuesday evening in protest against exclusion of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy from a statue unveiling function.

As the PM's motorcade was reaching the venue of a function where Modi later unveiled the statue of former chief minister R Sankar, the YC workers managed to wave the black flags and also released in air some balloons tied with black flags despite the presence of police personnel in large numbers.

Youth Congress activists were protesting the exclusion of Chandy from the statue unveiling function. A group of activists also held a fast in front of Sankar's statue at Chinnakada in the heart of Kollam town. Youth wing workers of RSP also protested.

Mahila Congress members took out a march to the venue of the function by covering their mouth with black band.
