In a scathing attack on BJP, CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat on Monday dubbed the Modi government as "a joint venture company" with RSS and called for a united fight by "secular and democratic" forces against Sangh parivar outfits which "are bent on dividing people".

"We have seen how the RSS has become the guiding force for this government. Modi government is actually a joint venture company with RSS holding majority shares," he said here while inaugurating the 21st Tamil Nadu State conference of CPI(M).

The CPI)M) General secretary noted that "RSS-government coordination committee has been set up" and has become "institutionalised".

"All the education institutions and higher research bodies are going to be penetrated by RSS," he alleged.

Stressing that a broadest unity of "secular and democratic" forces was needed, he said it was necessary to fight against RSS and its allies who he alleged were bent upon dividing people based on Hindutuva.

"So in coming days CPI(M) will work out a political line which will help us meet the right wing offensive and how to fight it and roll it (Hindutva forces) back," he said.

The Marxist leader said the fight against the right wing should be on dual fronts --against neo-liberal policies and Hindutuva forces.

He also attacked the Dravidian majors AIADMK and DMK for being "riddled" in corruption and for pursuing neo-liberal policies.

Karat said there was a need for a new political alternative in the state.

A "tactical line" was needed in Tamil Nadu to make a political turnaround where the two Dravidian parties held sway, he said and indicated that the Marxist party meet will deliberate it.

A resolution adopted at the meet urged the Centre to withdraw an amendment to the Land Acquisition Act. Another resolution asked Tamil Nadu to take back the power tariff hike and ease out power shortage.
