Mobile internet suspended in Tonk, Rajasthan, Section 144 imposed

 No untoward incident was today reported in Rajasthan's Tonk district where tension escalated after unidentified miscreants yesterday pelted stones at a 'Bhagwa Rally'. Mobile internet services although remained suspended and will continue to remain so till tomorrow afternoon as a precautionary measure, police said.

 No untoward incident was today reported in Rajasthan's Tonk district where tension escalated after unidentified miscreants yesterday pelted stones at a 'Bhagwa Rally'. Mobile internet services although remained suspended and will continue to remain so till tomorrow afternoon as a precautionary measure, police said.

One person has been arrested and more arrests are likely as people are being identified, additional director general (law and order) NRK Reddy said.
Additional forces were deployed in Tonk as a security measure, he said.

Tonk superintendent of police Yogesh Dadhich said that no untoward incident was reported today.

The two injured people who were referred to Jaipur were out of danger now, he added. 11 persons, including three policemen, were injured yesterday when unidentified miscreants pelted stones at a "Bhagwa Rally" being carried out in Tonk to mark the Nav Samvatsar (Hindu New Year). Section 144 of the CrPC, which prohibits assembly of more than four people, was imposed in the area and additional police was pressed into service to maintain law and order, an official said.

Two motorcycles were torched after the stone pelting incident, they said.
