BJP national spokesman Abhimanyu Singh has alleged that the non-BJP parties in Uttar Pradesh follow a policy of minority appeasement which is leading to clashes among communities.
In Uttar Pradesh, the non-BJP parties seek vote in the name of minority appeasement, instead of development, good governance, law and order, and agriculture policy, Singh told reporters here today, adding that riots were a result of these policies.
These parties consider minority appeasement their political future, he said.
Welcoming the High Court decision rejecting the UP government's move to withdraw terror charges against 29 persons, the BJP leader said the move showed its intention that it could go to any extent to appease one community.
Singh said keeping in view the enthusiasm among people who attended Narendra Modi's five rallies in the state, it could be said that there "is wind of change in Uttar Pradesh".
He said the results of Assembly elections in five states was a clear indication that the people have completely rejected Congress.
Singh said that there's resentment among the people due to price rise, corruption and wrong policies of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.
He claimed that winning almost 70 per cent more seats was an indicator that a political wave was in BJP's favour.
The BJP leader said declaring holiday on the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh would do no good.
Stating that cane farmers are agitating on the streets because of their problems, he said that while the central cabinet has decided to give Rs 6,600-crore interest-free loan to the sugar mill owners, there wasn't any move to pay the Rs 2,300-crore due to cane farmers.
He claimed that following its rout in the four states the Congress is now trying to woo Jats by including them in reservation list.
