Minor fire in Andheri, 80-year-old injured

Four fire tenders brought situation under control.

An 80-year old man received minor injury after a fire broke out at the seventh floor of an eight-storey building in Andheri (W) around 2.40 pm on Friday. The fire was brought under control by around 5.18 pm. 

The old man has been identified as Gopal Das and was discharged after first aid, informed disaster control of BMC. 

According to the fire department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), they received fire call around 2.46 pm for the seventh floor of Shanti Sadan building in Ambewadi near Reliance Fresh on Veera Desai road in Andheri (W). “This was level II fire and we pressed four fire tenders into the service and the fire was brought under control by around 5.18pm,” said an official from fire department of BMC. The official added that a short circuit is believed to be the reason of fire. However, they are investigation the exact cause.
