All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) Chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi met Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is set to be separate Telangana state's first chief minister and submitted a development plan for Hyderabad here today.

Incidentally, the development comes after a few TRS MLAs met MIM leaders here a couple of days ago, seeking the latter's support. Talking to reporters after his meeting with TRS chief Chandrasekhar Rao, Owaisi said that MIM's priority is development and that it is not interested in occupying any post of power (in Telangana). "We have given a detailed plan for the whole of Hyderabad. He assured us that he will positively look into it.

Hyderabad will definitely emerge as a place which will be secure. Infrastructure issues will be addressed. With today's positive meeting which we had, I am sure lot can be done. This is what we have spoken to him in detail," Owaisi, who has been re-elected as Hyderabad MP for the third consecutive time, told reporters. He was accompanied by his brother and MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi and other MIM leaders.
"We are not interested in occupying important posts of power. We are only interested in ensuring that development takes place," he said.

MIM, which has been seeking steps for the welfare of minorities as well as recognition of Urdu as an official language in Telangana, has been a major force in Hyderabad and it has won seven assembly seats in recent elections.

TRS has secured a majority by bagging 63 seats in the 119-member legislative assembly.
