A trainee woman constable of Bihar Military Police (BMP) on Wednesday alleged that her instructor sexually harassed her during her training, triggering outrage amongst her female colleagues, who staged protest demonstrations on the campus. They also demanded the immediate arrest of the accused, Sharan Rathod, a Subedar (police inspector rank officer), who they claimed had indulged in "indecent behaviour" on earlier occasions too.

Following the protests, Rathod was suspended. "An FIR has also been lodged into the incident and the guilty official will soon be arrested," a police source said.

According to one of the woman constables, "Rathod molested the constable when she was in one of the training rooms. He shut the door and was not letting her come out of the room. She somehow managed to escape."

The source said senior officials had been apprised of the situation and a probe was underway.
