Mentally challenged woman gangraped in Rajkot; five arrested

According to a complaint lodged by the victim's parents with Thorala police station, the woman was lured by one Natha Koli, a resident in the same area.

A 20-year-old mentally challenged woman was allegedly gangraped by six persons for three days here, police said on Wednesday.

The woman, living in Mafatiya Para area of the city with her parents, was missing since October 13. She was found in a dilapidated house near the area yesterday, where she had been kept by the six for last three days, police said.

According to a complaint lodged by the victim's parents with Thorala police station, the woman was lured by one Natha Koli, a resident in the same area.

Natha offered her snacks and took her to the abandoned house where he along with his five friends, including a 15-year-boy, raped her for last three days, police said.

A girl residing in the same area saw the woman in the house and informed her parents, who took the victim to her home where she informed her parents about the offence, police said.

"The victim was abducted on October 13 and found yesterday in an abandoned house near the area where six persons allegedly raped her," V B Jadeja, police inspector of Crime Branch, said.

The six persons, including the minor boy, have been charged with abducting the woman and raping her.

"Five persons including Natha Koli, his younger brother Vikram and the boy, have been arrested while search is on for one more person, who is absconding," the official said.

The victim is a married woman, but had left her husband's home owing to her mental condition and had been living with her parents.
