A Kuala Lumpur-bound Emirates Airways flight from Dubai made an unscheduled landing at the airport here after a 61-year-old passenger suffered a heart attack.

The flight EK346 was mid-air when the passenger complained of chest pain following which the crew sought permission of the Air Traffic Control at the airport, the nearest, for an emergency landing, airport officials said.

After permission was granted, the flight landed and the passenger, hailing from Dubai, was given first aid and rushed to a corporate hospital in the city, they said. The flight later continued its onward journey with 115 other passengers onboard.
