MDMK cadre on Monday staged an agitation in front of the office of a private TV news channel in Chennai, which is scheduled to broadcast an interview of Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Earlier, party founder Vaiko garlanded the statue of the founder of the news organisation and claimed that the ideals the founder had protected were not being adhered to by the present management of the organisation.
Later, MDMK cadres raised slogans against the news channel holding placards which read, 'Don't telecast Rajapaksa interview.' An MDMK release said party cadres raised slogans at the news channel's office at Egmore.

Meanwhile, Madras Reporters Guild and Chennai Press Club issued statements condemning political leaders, including Vaiko, who have protested against the telecast of Rajapaksa's interview scheduled tonight.
