Celebrating her 62nd birthday, BSP Supremo Mayawati on Monday cautioned the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be careful during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls after being nearly rendered 'homeless' in his home state Gujarat.

Addressing the media on the occasion, Mayawati said that those who had coined 'har har Modi, ghar ghar Modi' had almost become 'homeless' in their own state in Gujarat.

Calling Congress and BJP 'chor chor mausere bhai' (birds of same feather flock together), the BSP supremo alleged that both parties were dividing the country and people on caste and communal lines. "Both the Congress and the BJP have been attempting to wean away Dalits from the BSP, but they would never succeed in their plans as BSP is the only party which has been working for their welfare and rise relentlessly," charged Mayawati.

Wearing a glittering diamond set and sporting a pink salwar suit and designer tweed overcoat, Mayawati cut the cake on her 62nd birthday at party office in Lucknow and directed his party men to celebrate the occasion as 'jan kalyankari diwas' (public welfare day).

Raising the EVM issue again, Mayawati said that the BJP had won the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and 2017 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat by rigging EVMs. She demanded 2019 Lok Sabha polls through ballot papers.

Issuing a word of caution for Dalit samaj, she said that the BJP was playing Dalit card dangerously and engineering riots in different parts of the country to gag their voices and divide them for political gains.

On the occasion, she also released the 13th edition of her book "A Travalogue of My Struggle Ridden Life and BSP Movement" in English and Hindi. On her directions, party leaders celebrated her birthday at all district headquarters by distributing blankets, fruits to the poor and downtrodden.
