Australian swashbuckling batsman Glenn Maxwell has named legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar as an opener in his list of 'greatest ODI team ever', a line-up which also includes five of his compatriots.

In his blog for Cricket Australia before the World Cup, Maxwell listed former wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist as an opening pair with 'absolute God of India' Tendulkar in his list of favorite eleven.

Maxwell said that number three and skipper of the team would be former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting.

The big-hitting batsman included stalwarts like Brain Lara, Dean Jones, Viv Richards and all-rounder Jacques Kallis to form a solid middle-order line-up.

Choosing a formidable bowling line-up, Maxwell said that the four bowlers' spots were tightly contested, adding that he would start off with the King of Swing, Wasim Akram, then comes the King of Spin, very controversial at times, Shane Warne, the Dawn reported.

The two more very important spots would be filled by the King of Reverse Swing and also quite quick in his day, Waqar Younis, and the Australian legend Glenn McGrath, he added.

The ICC's pinnacle tournament is scheduled to be held from February 14 in Australia and New Zealand.
