Maulana Ejaz Arshad Qasmi arrested for slapping advocate Farah Faiz on Live TV: Twitter reacts

Maulana Ejaz Arshad Qasmi who slapped a woman on a live TV debate on Zee Hindustan on Tuesday was later arrested from the Zee Media’s office after a complaint by the media house. The Maulana, a regular on TV debates, assaulted Farah Faiz, an advocate fighting against Triple Talaq, on TV during a debate on Tuesday evening. 

Things went out of hand when Ms Faiz argued that “talaq-e-bidat (triple talaq) is not a form of divorce recognised in the Quran.

Farah Faiz had said in the debate that triple talaq is not a form of divorce recognised in Quran. This triggered a war of words between her and Maulana Qasmi which resulted in the physical scuffle.

Soon the clip of the scuffle went viral on the social media with Twitterati condemning the Maulana for his behaviour.
