Mathura gang-rape case: 5 of the 6 accused arrested

Five of six accused in the alleged gang-rape of an 18-year-old girl in Pingari village here were arrested today, police said.

The five accused were nabbed near Kurkanda village crossing under Farah police station here when they were trying to flee, SSP Nitin Tewari said. The accused arrested have been identified as Manoj, Guddu, Danno, Ramveer and Shekhar. "Hunt for the sixth accused Mahesh is on," Tewari said. 

The girl had gone to relieve herself in the fields on July 19 when the accused gang-raped her.

An FIR was filed by the police against the accused on the complaint of girl on July 20. Three teams, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajai Pal Sharma, had been formed to nab the accused.
