According to reports, the Supreme Court is expected to hear a plea by columnist Shobha De on Tuesday on a privilege motion moved against her in the Maharashtra Assembly.
Pratap Sarnaik, member of legislative assembly had moved a breach of privilege motion against socialite Shobha De. Sarnaik stated that she had criticized the move of the government of making rule for Marathi language movies be shown on the prime time.

Soon after the privilege motion was given, Shobha De tweeted, "Now a privilege motion demanding an apology from me? Come on! I am a proud Maharashtrian and love Marathi films. Always have. Always will !"

The Shiv Sena, which moved the motion, had claimed that Shobhaa De had hurt the sentiments of Maharashtrians through her views. Consequently, De had tweeted the following reaction:
The Shiv Sena had in turn protested outside Shobhaa De's house, carrying saffron flags in their hands. They had presented vada pav and curd to the building watchman in a symbolic protest. The party also published a scathing article in its mouthpiece Saamna criticising De.
