Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed nation on his radio programme 'Mann ki Baat'.

On National Science Day, PM Modi began his address by thanking the contribution of scientists in the development of the field. "I congratulate all our scientists and all those who work in science," PM Modi said.

PM Modi also remembered notable scientists Jagdish Chandra Bose, Har Gobind Khorana and Satyendra Nath Bose on 'Mann ki Baat' programme.

"Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose aur Har Gobind Khorana se lekar Satyendra Nath Bose jaise vaigyanik Bharat ka gaurav hain. Satyendra Nath Bose ke naam par toh famous particle 'Boson' ka naamkaran bhi kiya gaya," Modi said.

India has a legacy of great scientists. Technology and artificial intelligence must be used towards ensuring welfare of poor and underprivileged, he added.

PM Modi also spoke about women empowerment in his second 'Mann ki Baat' 'Mann ki Baat' this year. "Society is moving from women development to women-led development," PM Modi said. 

"Today, in every sphere of life, it is our duty to ensure the equal participation of women," he further said.\

PM Modi also wished nation ahead of Holi and urge everyone spreading peace, brotherhood and unity among all ahead of Holi.
