Maneka Gandhi falls ill at function in her constituency Pilibhit, taken to AIIMS

Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi was on Friday admitted to Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district hospital after facing difficulty in breathing. However, a ministry official said that she has been diagnosed with gallstones (gallbladder stones) and will be airlifted to Delhi for further treatment.

The minister was admitted in the emergency ward and was being attended by a heart specialist. Sources told DNA, that she was airlifted and taken to AIIMS in New Delhi. She is reportedly out of danger. 

Maneka was at an inauguration ceremony in Pillibhit. She is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from the constituency. .
