Maneka Gandhi disapproves of son Varun Gandhi's 'praise' for Rahul Gandhi

Maneka Gandhi reportedly did not approve of Varun Gandhi's appreciative comments for his cousin Rahul Gandhi stating, "What Varun Gandhi has said is wrong. I have been to Amethi. He should not speak before verifying the facts."

Varun Gandhi, during his campaigns for BJP, praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for implementation of schemes that have helped small scale industries in Amethi region.

Varun, 34, told a group of teachers and NGO activists on Tuesday night: "I want to bring a new form of politics. The way Rahulji has worked successfully in Amethi... though I haven't seen his work from inside."

Reacting to this, Rahul Gandhi said, “I am very happy that other people are appreciating my work in Amethi.”

Later, Varun clarified that he was not backing Rahul even though his remarks appeared to suggest that.
