Man shot dead by bike-borne assailants

A 22-year-old man was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne miscreants in Mangari village under Phoolpur police station here today, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Dheeraj Singh, native of Mangari village and was shot dead while he was returning on his bicycle to his home, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Ashish Tiwari said.

The assailants shot two bullets on him near his village and then fled from the spot, the SP said.

The victim was rushed to a nearby government hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, said Tiwari.

Police have launched a man hunt to arrest the assailants, he said, adding investigations was underway.
