Man held in MP for alleged links with ISIS

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Tuesday has picked up a suspect from Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh in connection with the Islamic State case.

According to sources, the suspect has been identified as Zakir Shaikh alias Abu Darda, a resident of Khargone district, who was in constant touch with the main accused arrested by the Maharashtra ATS earlier in connection with the link with terror outfit IS.

A team of seven ATS officers from the Nagpada Unit was sent to Khargone district on Sunday for questioning Sheikh. On Tuesday, the team along with the help of Madhya Pradesh Police have picked up Sheikh for further questioning. 

“Our officers have reached in Madhya Pradesh for questioning him and we are examining his role in the case. The final decision of arresting him will be taken only after the thorough questioning,” said an ATS officer on condition of anonymity.
