Man held for marksheet fraud in Gujarat

Khodaji Thakor, a resident of Kalol, lodged a cheating complaint against Bharat Lalani, a resident of Ratnamani tenement in Ghatlodia, for cheating him by providing his son with a fake marksheet of a school in Bhopal.

According to Thakor’s complaint, Lalani had approached him at his office in November and lured him by suggesting an arrangement for his son’s board exam. He promised Thakor that his son Ankur could appear for his class 12 board exam in a school in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, without having to attend classes. Lalani also promised to provide study material and guidance.

Thakor, who fell for the trap, paid Rs 20,000 to Lalani. However, the latter never showed up after taking money. Finally, when Thakor approached him personally, Lalani gave him fake marksheet and migration certificate. Thakor found out about the fraud and lodged the complaint. Navrangpura police have arrested Bharat Lalani.
