West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday urged all political parties, including the Left and the BJP, to back Trinamool Congress’ motion against FDI in multi-brand retail.

After a meeting with TMC MPs at Writers’ Buildings Mamata Banerjee said that the party has decided to “move a no-confidence motion against the minority-led UPA II and would request all opposition parties to back our motion”.

“The government at the Centre has lost all legitimate claim to power, so it must go now,” she told reporters. Though Banerjee may not get a nod from the CPI(M)-dominated Left, she might obtain the support of the BJP which had stated their support earlier for a no-confidence motion.
