Lashing out at Congress MPs from north Bengal Mausam Noor and Abu Hasem Khan Chowdhury, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said that they had not protested when the Centre decided to release water from the Farrakka Barrage causing problems for West Bengal.

There are MPs from your region who don't speak a word in Parliament. When water was released from Farakka and Teesta, they remained silent. Only when elections come they are visible. Don't vote for such people," Banerjee said during a rally, without naming them.

"The Congress, BJP and CPI(M) have joined hands in Bengal against us. If you want to teach them a lesson against the ill treatment they have meted out to Bengal, vote for Trinamool so that Delhi has to beg in before us," she said.
