Malwa mill tableau judged best

Swadeshi mill secured second position while Kaylan mill received third, Thousands thronged to bid adieu.

The tableau of Malawa Mill depicting conversation of Lord Ram, Sita, Laxman and Kewat in a boat was announced as the winner in the ‘Anant Chaturdashi’ procession on Wednesday.

Thousand of devotees thronged to bid adieu to Lord Ganesha and watch tableaux that were on display during 'Ganesh Visarjan Chal Samaroh' on concluding day of Ganeshutsav. The district administration, IMC, the city police and electricity board shouldered for the success of biggest cultural events.

The tableau from Khajrana Ganesh temple spearheaded the procession and was followed by decorated tableaux from IDA, Hope Textile Mill, IMC, Kalyan Mill, Sputnik Tutorial Academy, Malwa Mill, Swadeshi Mill, Rajkumar Mill, Hukumchand Mill, Jain society organisation and Ma Harsiddhi Bhakt Mandal.

Two separate committees were constituted to judge best tableau and 'Akhada' during the procession. Swadeshi Mill secured the second position for its tableau of 'Sharnidand'. Kalyan Mill was given third prize for its tableau of 'World peace' and Hope Textiles Mill received a special prize for its tableau of 'Shiv Tandav'.
Youth and children associated with different 'Akhada' of the city enthralled the audience with their hold on arms and other tricks.

The judging panel awarded Chandrapal Ustad Vyayamshala with the first prize while Chogalal Ustad Vyayamshala and Adarsh Vyayamshala were jointly given second prize. Binda Guru Vyayamshala and Damaru Ustad Vyayamshala were jointly given the third prize while Hiralal Ustad Vyayamshala and Brijlal Guru Vyayamshala were awarded special prizes.
